تقع سوريا في غرب قارة آسيا ... في أقصى شرق البحر المتوسط

تقع تركيا في شمالها .. و الأردن و العراق في جنوبها .. و العراق في الغرب منها

بينما يقع لبنان و البحر المتوسط في الغرب منها .

سوريا تقع في موقع استراتيجي من الشرق الأوسط

تقدَّر مساحة سوريا بــ 185.180 كم2

# عدد السكان و الكثافة :

بلغ عدد سكان سوريا 18.5 مليون نسمة حسب إحصاء عام 2005

و نسبة النمو 33 بالألف .

تبلغ الكثافة العامة 100 نسمة في الــ كم2

# أهم المدن السورية و مواقعها :

- دمشق : 1.6 مليون نسمة و هي عاصمة سوريا . تقع وسط الغوطة في جنوب غرب سوريا .

يحوي على آثار هامة منها : المسجد الأموي و قلعة صلاح الدين الأيوبي الأثرية و سوق الحميدية

إضافة إلى العديد من المناطق الأثرية في مدنها الكثيرة مثل : معلولا .. النبك .. دير عطية ..

إضافة الى العديد من مناطق الاصطياف مثل .. بلودان و وادي بردى و الزبداني

- حلب : 1.5 مليون نسمة .. وهي العاصمة الاقتصادية لسوريا .

تقع في متوسط الشمال من سوريا .. وهي مدينة أثرية للغاية

فيها قلعة حلب الشهيرة و باب الحديد و العديد من الأحياء القديمة

و حلب مدينة تحتفظ بطابع خاص .. بخلاف جميع المدن السورية من حيث العادات الاسلامية

يوجد بمحافظة حلب العديد من المناطق الجميلة مثل .. عفرين شمالاً من حلب و عين العرب في الشمال الشرقي من المحافظة

و العديد من هذه المناطق ..

- اللاذقية :500 ألف نسمة

تقع في منتصف غرب سوريا .. على الساحل البحر المتوسط

تعتبر محافظة اللاذقية بشكل كامل من أجمل المناطق السورية من ناحية الاصطياف

كونها تتميز بجو لطيف في أشهر الصيف ..

فهي تحوي على العديد من الأنهر و البحيرات و السدود و الغابات الطبيعية

فهي لا تقتصر من ناحية الفنادق و المطاعم السياحية العريقة

- حمص : 900 ألف نسمة

تقع وسط سوريا تقريباً في الغرب قليلا ..

كانت تعتبر من أكبر المحافظات لكنها تقسمت أخيرا الى محافظتين حمص و تدمر

حمص مدينة جميلة فهي متنوعة المناخ .. غابي و صحراوي

وهي أيضا محافظة غنية بالمناطق الأثرية مثل قصر خالد بن الوليد و قصر الحير الغربي

- تدمر : تعتبر محافظة تدمر من أهم المحافظات الأثرية في سوريا

فهي موطن الملكة زنوبيا و تحوي على آثار مملكتها الرائعة بالإضافة إلى

آثار أخرى فيها

- حماه : محافظة النواعير السورية

فهي المحافظة الوحيدة في سوريا التي تشتهر بها إضافة إلى مناطق أثرية فرعية

ومناطق اصطياف جميلة فيها

- دير الزور : تقع شرق سوريا ..

محافظة كبيرة نوعاً ما فهي متنوعة المناخ بين الصحراوي و المعتدل في بعضها

محافظة لها نكهة خاصة غير باقي المحافظات ..

يمر نهر الفرات في منتصف المدينة .. حيث يعطيها منظراً خلاباً خاصة على

جسرها المعلق .. حيث يقصده السكان و زوار المدينة للاستمتاع بسكون الليل

ونسمات الهواء اللطيفة

و يحوي محافظة دير الزور على مناطق جميلة أخرى ذات أهمية خاصة بها .

- الحسكة : 1.5 مليون نسمة

تقع محافظة الحسكة في أقصى شرق سوريا

تحوي على الكثير من الأنهر في أحضانها مثل الخابور و الجغجغ و دجلة في أقصى شرق المحافظة

تشتهر المحافظة بالوجه الخاص على زراعة الحبوب بالدرجة الأولى

فهي أكبر محافظات القطر بإنتاجها .. و أيضا باستخراج النفط ..

من أهم مدنها : الحسكة و القامشلي ( قامشلو ) و المالكية (ديرك ) رميلان و معبدة ( كركي لكي )

رأس العين ( سري كانيي )

قامشلو: هي أهم مدن المحافظة من ناحية موقعها .. فهي تقع على الحدود التركية مقابل مدينة نصيبين التركية

و تعتبر واسطة ربط بين مدن المحافظة فهي أهم مدينة ذات النكهة الكردية الأصيلة من جميع المدن الكردية

الموجودة في سوريا .. فهي أكثر المدن ذات الأغلبية الكردية في سوريا أكثر من 90 % من سكانها أكراد

# المواصلات :

- البرية :

* تربط الطرق المزفتة جميع أنحاء سوريا دون استثناء أي منطقة

فهي تربط مدينة المالكية في أقصى الشمال الشرقي مع درعا في أقصى الجنوب الغربي

و تربط البوكمال في أقصى الجنوب الشرقي مع أعزاز في الشمال الغربي

و كذلك في كل المدن الأخرى .. و تعتبر طول الطرق المزفتة حوالي 45 ألف كم

* السكك الحديدية : فهي كالتالي : حمص طرابلس

حلب الموصل بمحاذاة الحدود التركية

دمشق حلب مروراً بحمص و حماه

دمشق اللاذقية مروراً بحمص و طرطوس

حلب اللاذقية

حلب القامشلي مروراً بالرقة و دير الزور و الحسكة

* البحري : يوجد في سوريا عدة موانئ أهمها

ميناء اللاذقية للتصدير و الاستيراد

ميناء طرطوس تصدير النفط و الفوسفات

* الجوي يوجد عدة مطارات هي :

مطار دمشق الدولي . وهي من أكبر المطارات الموجودة في سوريا
